2024 Legislative Policy Agenda

The Georgia Economic Developers Association (GEDA) has 800+ members from across Georgia and international. Cornerstone Government Affairs represents GEDA for legislative monitoring, advocacy, and lobbying. GEDA helps our members to understand legislation and critical issues, as well as how to use the legislative process effectively. Our governmental affairs purpose is to influence public policy in the best interests of the economic development community in Georgia. We want to be a resource on legislative matters to our local, state and federal leaders. 

GEDA’s Top Legislative Priorities for 2024

  1. Maintain local control and flexibility for Development Authorities
  2. Continued funding support for economic development programs and state agencies
  3. Maintain competitive statutory and discretionary incentives
  4. Additional areas of interest include:
    1. Increase funding mechanisms for economic development projects and related infrastructure
    2. Support for rural Georgia initiatives, such as broadband, tax credits, and housing initiatives.
    3. Ensure Georgia keeps its competitive set of film and tourism development incentives.
